April 2, 2015 – Carlow, Ireland – Blacknight announce sponsorship of the 2015 Social Media Awards in the category of Best Use of Social Media by an SME Micro.

The 2015 Sockies will be held June 3, 2015 at the RDS Concert Hall in Dublin. This year’s Sockies will be MC’d by Rick O’Shea and promise a fun, relaxed, informal event that honours the best of Irish Social Media. The awards are free to enter and must be done by the business owner or a designated representative.

The Sockies are organised by Damien Mulley/Mulley Comms who started the original Irish Blog Awards. Mulley still runs the Realex Web Awards (8th year), the SME Awards and the Social Media Awards (5th year) and the Measurement Conference – Measurement.ie (3 years). All these events put fun and interactions first and make it as inclusive for everyone by having free nominations, low early bird ticket prices and a lack of formality at the events.

Blacknight CEO Michele Neylon, who is a multiple social media award winner, is pleased to announce that Blacknight will be sponsoring the category of Best Use of Social Media by an SME Micro. “From experience, I can say that running an SME is a tremendous amount of work. Running an SME while also finding the time to engage effectively via social media is the stuff of super heroes. We are very pleased to be sponsoring the category of Best Use of Social Media by an SME Micro to honour this tremendous effort. We look forward to seeing the nominee list.”

Nominations are open until April 8, 2015 however, only someone from the business/org to be nominated or an agreed representative may make a nomination for a Sockie. Companies may enter in up to 4 categories. If nominating multiple companies, a unique email must be used for each entry. Late entries (up to 48 hours) incur an admin fee of €300. Edits to a nomination after entries close also incurs this fee. The public as well as social media enthusiasts will judge all entries.

Once a nomination has been made, an email from web@sockies.ie will be sent to verify the entry. If the email goes unverified, the nomination will not go through. Once verified, a link will be sent, which allows edits to an entry up to the close of nominations on April 7th.
