Blacknight Announce Launch of .irish TLD

Registrants may now register their own .irish domain names

Starting March 17th 2015, St Patrick's Day, companies and individuals around the world will be able to register their own .irish domain names. The .irish domain name is aimed at the global Irish community with trademark holders being given the option to register their names starting March 17th and "landrush" starting May 21. The domain names will be available to everyone on a "first come, first served" basis starting June 25th 2015.

Blacknight will be offering .irish domains during all phases of release from sunrise through general availability. The Sunrise period will begin March 17 and continue through May 16. This time frame offers priority registration for trademark holders. Landrush, which is the designated window to submit applications for high value domain names follows from May 21 through June 20. .irish domains will be available to the general public beginning June 25, 2015.

Registrants are also invited to be among the first in the world to have a .irish domain by applying to the founders program.
