Blacknight CEO to Address The Domain Community On How to Expand A Hosting Business at NamesCon
NamesCon partners with Blacknight to offer attendee discount
Blacknight CEO and Chair of the Registrar Stakeholder Group, Michele Neylon will speak about hosting operations at NamesCon 2015, the largest conference exclusively dedicated to the domain industry.
NamesCon 2015 will be held from January 9-14 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Tropicana Hotel. The conference was created as a way for the domain community to gather in a setting away from the ICANN process, to learn from each other in a low-pressure environment. NamesCon features 100 speakers and panelists, over 30 sessions and workshops, 8 keynotes and a domain name auction. Over 85% of the domain name industry will gather in Las Vegas, to start off 2015 with an amazing focus on opportunity, commerce and transformation.
This year, NamesCon will feature special plenary sessions on growing into the next billion customers in emerging and untapped markets, as well as reinforcement of existing models, and some of the most magnificent networking available at any domain name meeting. One of many new developments for this year’s conference is an in-depth focus on hosting. Neylon has been invited to address the community as Blacknight has earned a reputation for continued, steady growth of the hosting side of their business. Earlier this year, Blacknight opened an onsite, environmentally friendly data centre that has allowed the leading provider to keep all operations local, in Carlow, Ireland.
“I attended and spoke at the first NamesCon in 2014 and am honoured to be asked back for a second year” Neylon explains. “The conference exceeded attendee expectations and I was pleased to find myself among the best minds in the industry. I very much look forward to speaking to the community about operating and expanding a hosting business, particularly in light of New TLDs. Blacknight has doubled down, so to speak on our hosting business, opening our own, onsite data centre at the start of 2014 and I have much insight to share from choosing this route from which to grow our business”
The content at NamesCon 2015 will be multi-track and flow over three days. The conference starts as CES concludes, and features Cyber Security, DNS Technical, Trans media, Legal and other subject matter to the already feature-filled mix of Registry/Registrar/Legal/Aftermarket and Advertising sessions.
Conference co-organizer Jothan Frakes states: “Richard Lau and I created NamesCon with an eye toward developing, hosting, and building upon domain names. We are delighted to have Michele Neylon joining us from Blacknight to discuss the domain industry from his perspective as a successful customer-focused businessperson and as chair of the Registrar Stakeholders Group. We look forward to his discussion on the timing of when to expand your hosting business and how to find the right solution.”
NamesCon and Blacknight have partnered to give a discount code to any attendees who register for NamesCon before December 31, 2014. The code, bk50 will allow 50% off of the $599 registration price until December 15, 2014 after which the same code will also take 50% off the $799 registration price until December 31, 2014 (making the fee $299 and $399 respectively).
Over 600 members of the domain community attended NamesCon 2014. This year, the attendee list is expected to top 800. Keynotes will be given by Akram Atallah, President of ICANN's GDD; Fiona Alexander; Nevada Governor Rick Sandoval; Jennifer Wolfe; Mike McGlaughlin of GoDaddy; Dan Schindler of Donuts; Jörg Schweiger, CEO of DENIC the .DE registry.
