Leading Irish Domain registrar and hosting company, Blacknight has won the 2013 Irish Social Media Award (Sockie) for Best Business Twitter Account (Marketing, Sales).
The event which took place on May 30, 2013 at the Clyde Court Hotel in Dublin, Ireland honoured Irish companies with outstanding command of social media. The "Best Business Twitter Account Award" was sponsored and presented by Twitter.
This is the third "Sockie" for Blacknight. The company has become well known for their natural, irreverent approach to social media with a larger than life twitter presence.
Blacknight CEO Michele Neylon states:"It is an honour to win an award for something you enjoy so much. We have always felt that Twitter is the best way for us to organically connect to our customers and a spectacular community has grown around Blacknight because of it. Nothing feels better than winning an award for doing something that comes naturally."
Blacknight have been heavily involved in social media for several years making a point to connect with customers via Twitter, Facebook and the award winning Blacknight company blog. Blacknight also uses these media to educate their community about important Internet governance issues, cybercrime and new technology.
Neylon continues: "Part of our job as a service provider is to empower our customers to get the most that they possibly can out of our services and the greater Internet. It has always been my philosophy that you can impart important information and make people laugh at the same time. The world would be a much harder place if we all took ourselves too terribly serious."
Other Irish companies who took away Sockies include: Hailo, O2 Ireland and Radical.
