This is the second year of the two-day event, aimed at building ecommerce expertise among Irish SMEs. Up to 30 speakers will host talks and workshops over two days. Speakers already confirmed include the head of movies at BAFTA and one of the founding directors of Gymshark and the Hut Group.

Vinny O’Brien founded The eCommerce Summit to address the demand from Irish businesses, especially in regions outside Dublin. He and his co-founders have extensive experience with eCommerce giants such as eBay, as well as home-grown success stories like MicksGarage.com & Arnotts. Vinny is a director of eCommerce at www.cruaoutdoors.com and an advisor to many businesses.

The inaugural summit in October 2019 had an enthusiastic response from the business community. More than 100 business people and marketing professionals descended on The Rose Hotel in Tralee for two days of knowledge transfer and networking. The event attracted attendees from all over the country, especially from rural areas, and this gave it a distinctly different character from Dublin-based events.

“We found that Tralee is an ideal location for this type of event”, said Vinny O’Brien.

There’s no shortage of innovation and expertise in Kerry, with an IT transitioning to university status this year that will be the bedrock for future talent development. Kerry has so much to offer as a place to live and work, and as a conference venue it’s simply superb. Holding the event over two days gives attendees the opportunity to step outside their day-to-day routine and really engage with the people and the ideas they encounter at The eCommerce Summit. Vinny O'Brien, The eCommerce Summit

Blacknight founder and CEO Michele Neylon agrees.

We took a strategic decision a few years ago to focus more of our sponsorship and promotional effort on smaller and more regional events like The eCommerce Summit, and we haven’t been disappointed. The companies we encountered in Tralee are a lot like ourselves: driven, innovative and commited to customer satisfaction as their engine of growth. We’re delighted to sponsor The eCommerce Summit again this year. Michele Neylon, CEO, Blacknight
